The Sangoma A508DE card features 16 ports for BRI connections and a PCI Express network interface. This card also includes an onboard echo cancellation feature to further boost the card's carrier-grade voice quality. Eight BRI modules on the Sangoma A508DE house two BRI ports each, making up the card's 16 total BRI ports.
When taken apart, the Sangoma A508DE consists of one base A500 PCIe card and three Remora daughterboards. Each Remora then offers three open sockets for the BRI modules. In total, up to four Remoras and 12 BRI modules can rest on the Sangoma A508DE's base card. The entire Sangoma A500 series is designed to be completely scalable, up to 24 BRI ports.
