Axis Companion Recorder makes storing surveillance video taken by Axis Companion security cameras very easy. The Companion Recorder is an 8-channel NVR (network video recorder), which means you can connect up to eight cameras using Ethernet cables, and all the video they produce will be stored on the Recorder. Download the stored video using the USB 2.0 port. Axis Companion Recorder uses the H.264 video codec, which is a highly efficient file format that retains excellent detail. You can view stored video through the Axis Companion video management software for Windows, or through the Axis Companion app for Android or iOS.
Axis Companion Recorder is also an 8-port PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch, which means that those same Ethernet cables that connect the cameras to the Recorder can also be used to power the cameras. With a maximum output of 65W, Companion Recorder simplifies your infrastructure and provides stable electrical power. Axis Companion Recorder acts as a wireless AP (access point), supporting both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. This allows you to securely connect to the Recorder using a mobile device and the Axis Companion app. The Companion Recorder features a fanless design, which keeps it quiet. The Recorder comes loaded with security features including WPA2 Personal WiFi encryption and centralized certificate management.
This unit, PN: 0893-004, has a surveillance-grade 4 Tb hard drive. If this is more storage space than you require, Axis also sells a Companion Recorder with a 2 Tb hard drive, PN: 0832-004.
