Breaking down the Yealink desk phones by series

The Yealink T2 series is perfect for cubicles and common areas, with an unbelievable number of features available for such an affordable line of phones. Models with onboard busy lamp fields, programmable keys and dedicated function keys make interactions with the phones easy and customizable.

The Yealink SIP-T32G phone and Yealink SIP-T38G phone make up the Yealink T3 series. The phones feature the TI Aries chipset; a powerful voice engine that makes conversations sound amazingly sharp. Dual gigabit Ethernet ports enable the phones to keep up with more advanced networks.

Yealink’s T4 series is an attractive line of VoIP phones that both look good and provide an incredible user experience. The flagship model, the Yealink SIP-T48G phone, has a seven-inch color touchscreen, a USB port for supporting a Bluetooth dongle, can support up to six expansion modules, and has 16 line appearances. Optima HD Voice technology creates calls as real as any face-to-face conversation.

Yealink wireless phones

The W52P phone is the sole DECT wireless solution available from Yealink. The phone includes a base station and a handset. The base station can support up to five handsets, such as the compatible W52H wireless handsets.

Wireless DECT technology enables you to use the handsets approximately 300 feet away from the base station, giving you complete freedom to roam the workspace. Operate the Yealink W52P with the Yealink RT10 repeater to widen the range of the base station’s DECT signal, ideal for expansive workspaces like warehouses, or obstructed workspaces like hotels and hospitals where walls may interfere.

Yealink and 3CX

3CX is a popular software-based phone system. Rather than using proprietary hardware, 3CX is compatible with Windows and can be used with your existing equipment. No need for expensive servers or other devices.

Yealink and 3CX work hand-in-hand to ensure complete interoperability between Yealink phones and 3CX phone systems. The latest version of 3CX, version 12.5, has been completed tested with Yealink for compatibility. You may need to upgrade your Yealink phones to the latest firmware if compatibility issues arise.

Yealink also maintains close relationships with other phone system manufacturers, safeguarding end users from future problems and making sure that the phones support a wide range of available features.

Yealink and BroadSoft

BroadSoft offers cloud-based VoIP and UC services for businesses of all sizes, anywhere in the world. The VoIP service solutions from BroadSoft are in use by home offices, SMBs, large businesses and enterprises. BroadSoft connects organizations in all corners of the globe.

Yealink phones have been proven for easy provisioning with BroadSoft. Once provisioned, they can plug-and-play and support an unbelievable number of features. Yealink phones support everything from busy lamp fields to advanced security protocols.

Many of the world’s leading hosted VoIP and cloud-based PBX providers work closely with Yealink to ensure complete interoperability.

Expansion modules and other accessories

Yealink phones are outstanding VoIP solutions, purpose-built to faithfully serve the user’s expectations of what a modern telephony device should do. Busy workers want one-touch access to more extensions and frequent callers than the typical phone can afford without cluttering the interface.

Many of Yealink’s desk phones support expansion modules. The modules give the phones more programmable keys and dual-color LEDs. Program the keys to support busy lamp fields, speed dial fields and call management keys. Three Yealink expansion modules are available, each compatible with different Yealink phones.

The Yealink EXP38 expansion module features 38 programmable keys and a paper label. Up to six of the modules can be daisy chained together. The expansion module is compatible with these Yealink phones:

• Yealink SIP-T26P

• Yealink SIP-T27P

• Yealink SIP-T28P

• Yealink SIP-T29G

The Yealink EXP39 expansion module is compatible with the same phones as the EXP38 module, but the EXP39 has a different interface. The EXP39 offers 20 programmable keys and an LCD display. Rather than erasing and rewriting the labels next to your keys, this module lets you program them and display them on the LCD display. The EXP39 is compatible with the following Yealink phones:

• Yealink SIP-T26P

• Yealink SIP-T27P

• Yealink SIP-T28P

• Yealink SIP-T29G

The Yealink EXP40 expansion module is only compatible with the Yealink SIP-T46G phone and Yealink SIP-T48G phone. The module perfectly matches the aesthetics of the T4 series, seamlessly blending into the device. A total of 20 programmable keys are available, with a page-view option letting you program up to 40 individual features and functions. As with the EXP38 and EXP39, daisy chain up to six of the EXP40 expansion modules together. Only two phones in the T4 series are compatible with this module:

• Yealink SIP-T46G

• Yealink SIP-T48G

Other accessories include the Yealink EHS36. This accessory is an electronic hook switch, enabling a compatible wireless headset to answer and end calls from your Yealink phone. Connect the EHS36 to the EXT port on the phone, and then plug the headset’s base into the other end of the hook switch.

The Yealink EHS36 is compatible with Jabra, Plantronics and Sennheiser wireless headsets. Use the electronic hook switch with these Yealink desk phones:

• Yealink SIP-T26P

• Yealink SIP-T28P

• Yealink SIP-T38G

• Yealink SIP-T41P

• Yealink SIP-T42G

• Yealink SIP-T46G

• Yealink SIP-T48G

Other Yealink Phone Features to Consider

In addition to expansion and accessories it is also important to consider the following phone features.

Line Appearances

Line appearances determine how many calls and extensions your phone can view at one time. The greater the number of line appearances, the larger the call volume is that the phone can handle. Phones with lots of line appearances are ideal for receptionists, executives and knowledge workers.

Switch Ports

The phone is connected to the network through its switch port. Yealink’s desk phones feature dual switch ports, letting you route traffic from your computer through your phone, or daisy chaining the phone and computer. Daisy chaining means that only one Ethernet outlet it required, rather than two if both devices were connected to the network separately.

Gigabit Ethernet

Switch ports come in two speeds: 10/100 or 10/100/100. The latter is called “gigabit Ethernet.” Computers and phones are becoming more application and media-intensive than ever, requiring faster connections to the network and the Internet. Gigabit Ethernet is faster than standard Ethernet, and becoming the recognized standard for many businesses.

PoE/Power over Ethernet

Did you know that you could power a phone through an Ethernet cable? If your Yealink phone is compliant with PoE and it is connected to a PoE-enabled network switch port, then you can power it through the same cable that is connecting it to telephony services. The advantage is that no additional AC adapter is required—although not all phones are PoE compliant and may still require an AC adapter.

Wideband/HD Audio

Yealink phones with features like “Yealink HD Voice” and “Optima HD Voice” utilize the wideband audio codec, G.722. Wideband audio can reproduce every frequency of the human voice, and sound quality is twice as clear as narrowband codecs or standard audio. Yealink phones’ hardware and software are built to fully optimize wideband audio and produce a high-definition calling experience.
