Jabra Evolve2 85 Bluetooth Headset’s Active Noise Cancellation

We wanted to talk a little bit more about what is probably the stand-out feature of Jabra Evolve2 85: Digital. Hybrid. Active. Noise. Cancellation. (That’s a lot!)

And it uses 10 microphones in its ClearVoice microphone system not only to pick up your voice with ultra-natural sound quality, but also to reduce background conversation noise by 97% when compared with the previous Jabra Evolve 80 headset.

Why does having so many microphones improve noise reduction?

Jabra Evolve2 85 UC Bluetooth Headset

Active noise cancellation (ANC) works by sensing sound, then producing counter-sound to camouflage unwanted noise. Having more microphones allows the headset to monitor unwanted sound with greater detail, thus allowing the ANC to work more accurately.

Jabra powers this using an advanced digital chipset and signal processing algorithms, again improving performance.

But what if you want the opposite, that is, to hear what’s happening around you? The headset can use its microphones to sense environmental sound, then play that sound back to you. Jabra calls this audio pass-through feature HearThrough. It means you can hear what’s happening around you without ever needing to take off your headset.

This headset is the real deal.
