EnGenius DuraFon-SIP System includes one rugged long-range cordless handset with one base station that provides both VoIP and PSTN connectivity. The handset and base station communicate using a custom 900 MHz protocol that enables incredible range: 250,000 square feet indoors, 3,000 acres outside and 12 floors of penetration. Having such range doesn't just mean you can wander without worrying, but it also means you need fewer repeaters to carry the signal. EnGenius saves your company on deployment costs, because you need less equipment for equivalent coverage.
DuraFon-SIP are fit for the factory floor, being ruggedized to withstand falls. The use of the secure 900 MHz protocol saves your 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz WiFi spectra from becoming crowded and provides better reach than DECT or Bluetooth. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides 6 hours of talk-time and 50 hours of standby-time, and the included charger cradle takes only 4 hours to fully recharge the battery. You can use two DuraFon handsets as a point-to-point intercom, and it supports push-to-talk (PTT) functionality for one-to-many broadcasting.
